الملخص

تتعلق القضية الرئيسة، في هذه الدراسة، بما بات يعانيه علم الاجتماع، خصوصًا، والعلوم الاجتماعية، عمومًا، في الوقت الراهن؛ وهو قلّة الاهتمام بمجال النظرية. لقد أثبتت المناهج الكيفية والكمية على حدٍّ سواء فائدتها العظيمة على الصعيد التطبيقي (على العكس من النظرية). ونتيجةً لذلك، فرضت المناهج هيمنتها على العلوم الاجتماعية. وعلى الرغم من ذلك، لا تؤدي هذه المناهج المُهِمّةَ المُوكلةَ إلى النظرية. هناك طريقة واحدة مقترحة، لمُعالجة الاختلال الحالي بين المناهج والنظرية، وهذه الطريقة يمكن أن تجلب الانتباه لعملية التنظير، وهي العملية الفعلية التي تسبق الصَّوغ النهائيّ للنظرية. وبهذه الطريقة يمكن أن نُحَسّن من عمل النظرية.
