الملخص

تقوم العلاقات الأميركية - الخليجية على ما يتجاوز المصلحة الذاتية، وإن كانت هي العامل الرئيس دومًا لتشكيل التحالفات والعلاقات الاستراتيجية. وتتعل ق المصالح الذاتية التي توجّه العلاقات بين الولايات المتحدة ودول الخليج العربية بالأمن، وذلك من منطلق الحاجة إلى التعامل مع إيران ومحاربة التطرف وتأمين تدفق صادرات النفط من الخليج وشبه الجزيرة العربية لتلبية حاجات الاقتصاد العالمي وتوفير المصدر الرئيس للدخل لدول الخليج. تفسّ ر هذه الدراسة أسباب استمرار علاقات الولايات المتحدة الوثيقة بشركائها الأمنيين العرب في الخليج، وترى أن الولايات المتحدة وشركاءها الاستراتيجيين الخليجيين يواجهون تحديات خطرة، تشمل التغيير السياسي الداخلي في الولايات المتحدة، والانقسامات بين الدول العربية، وتأثير النزاعات الإقليمية، وعدم الاستقرار، والدور المتنامي للقوى الخارجية.
