The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have published the 68th issue of Siyasat Arabiya, a bimonthly peer-reviewed journal of political science and international relations. This special issue, titled "Realism in International Relations: Theoretical Reviews through Arab Cases," opens with an introduction by the editor, Ahmed Qasem Hussein, followed by the following articles: "Armament and the Security Dilemma in the Maghreb: Algerian-Moroccan Rivalry" by Abdennour Benantar; "Deterrence and Revisionist States from a Realist Perspective: The Renaissance Dam Crisis as a Model" by Marwa Fekry; "The Limits of Realism in Explaining the Institutionalization of the Arab League and the Arab Monetary Fund: From the Prisoner's Dilemma to Cooperative Game Theory" by Mohamed Khemis; "Saudi-Iranian Rivalry and the Gulf Security Dilemma" by Madoukh Ajmi Al-Otaibi; "The Transformation of Turkish Foreign Policy towards the Arab Region from a Realist Perspective" by Ali Bakeer. This issue also includes documentation of key events in the democratic transition in the Arab world and Palestine over the two-month period from March 1 to April 30, 2024. Additionally, it features Aicha Belhaj's review of The Question of the State: Philosophy, Theory, and Context by Azmi Bishara, as well as Nouhaila Soufi's review of From Post-democracy to Neo-democracy by Klaus von Beyme."
