Abstract

This paper draws on a number of sources to elucidate the thinking of Mohammed Aziz Lahbabi. In addition to his work, six texts written by different philosophers are also examined, four of whom were his students in Moroccan universities almost half a century ago. Lahbabi was first introduced to the basic ideas behind individualism when he was a university student in Post-War Paris, where ideas of individualism enjoyed a great currency. With time, the Moroccan philosopher would come to publish his own thesis on "Islamic Individualism". In the later stages of his life, Lahbabi's research interests moved towards futurism, as he became interested in a "philosophy for tomorrow".
