Bontekoe argues against Rorty's concept of truth. Rorty's book Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature has been a major influence on philosophical debates in the United States, Europe, and worldwide since its publication in 1979. Bontekoe adopts the premises of Hermeneutics (Gadamer and Polanyi) and Pragmatism itself (Peirce and James) to defend his belief in the validity of the concept of truth based on a strong epistemological basis.
