The author of A Brief History of Justice presents an aspect of the idea of justice, from a "western" perspective, leading his effort to fall short. This article postulates that this shortcoming encompasses the conceptual and the methodological, since the flaws in Johnston's understanding and concept of justice are clear. His leaping over the Arab-Islamic contribution is also damaging to his book.
