Definition of Madrasa

Abstract

This paper seeks to define the concept of a Madrasa in the Islamic middle age - a concept that underwent serious distortion. It then reviews the current definitions that do not reflect its true essence. Based on a conceptual linguistic approach, the study will clarify the correlation between the linguistic and conventional concept of the school concept, in order to emphasize what distinguishes it from other institutions, which is the type of teaching.
