الملخص

تقدم هذه الدراسة إطارًا نظريًا لتشكُّل الدولة وتطورها وتفككها في العالم العربي، مع تناول حالات إمبريقية، اعتمادًا على منهجية تاريخية مقارنة. وتطرح مجموعةً من الأسئلة: كيف يمكننا مفهمة الدولة وعملية بنائها في العالم العربي؟ وما الفرق بين النظام والدولة؟ وما أنواع الأنظمة التي نشأت في العالم العربي؟ وكيف نفسر الاختلافات في تشكُّلها وأنواعها؟ ولماذا فشلت بعض عمليات بناء الدولة، بينما نجحت أخرى؟ وتنتهي الدراسة إلى نتيجة أساسية مفادها أنه يمكن وصف مسار بناء الدولة في العالم العربي بالمنحنى الجرسي، بدلًا من المقاربة الخطية في مفهوم الدولة الفيبري أو الويستفالي.
