The Disintegration of the State in Sudan: A Study of the Causes and Factors (1821-2025)

Abstract

This study explores the trajectory of state disintegration in Sudan from 1821 to 2025, and argues the 2023 war was not the sole cause of Sudan’s collapse, but a revealing a long structural path shaped by wars, elite conflict, and foreign intervention.
